What to expect from an EICR in Telford and Newport
An Electrical Installation Condition Report records the condition of an existing electrical installation at the time it is inspected. It helps you understand what has been checked, the findings and any recommendations that need attention. It is different from simply testing a portable appliance or replacing a faulty socket.
Before arranging the visit, tell us the type and approximate size of the property, whether it is occupied and whether you have an earlier report. Access to the consumer unit and electrical points helps us plan the inspection. Testing can involve interruptions to the electrical supply, so discuss equipment or working arrangements that need consideration.
After the inspection, review the findings and any limitations recorded in the report. Where remedial work is identified, discuss the scope and estimate before arranging that work. Contact Total Trip to discuss an inspection for your home, rental property or business.
Is remedial work included in the inspection?
An inspection identifies and reports on the condition of the installation. Ask what the inspection estimate covers and agree any remedial work separately before it starts.
What information should I send?
Send your postcode, property type, approximate size and any previous report. Tell us about access restrictions or equipment that cannot be interrupted.
Do I need to be there?
Suitable access is needed. Discuss access and any occupied-property arrangements when booking.
